Some Fun In First Grade Math

Well, how do I begin... This is actually my first post...
After thinking much it is my first time starting my own blog. A wonderful co-worker of mine brought me to the idea of blogging, and at first I was a little nervous about what to do, how to do, and all those wonderful questions that we all have when we do something different  for the first time. She helped me figure the kinks, and like always gave me great ideas.
I  am a giver, and I truly love sharing my ideas with others as well. I feel that by working together and sharing ideas you can learn many great things that you might not have thought of before. But bare with me...I will be rusty until I get the hang of this all.

First, I would like to share my first worksheet that I created. I am currently working on it with my students, and they have absolutely loved it. We are learning about 3d shape and 2d shape combinations.
As part of our Common Core, we need to teach students the skills to think outside the box and find clever and unique ways to figure out the problems themselves. What better way to do this than with hands on alternative assessments, manipulative, and that just for fun activity that engages students to problem solve.
Then again, I do not recall having a child tell me that he/she is excited to work on a piece of copy paper cutting and pasting and coloring is so much more fun!

I hope you enjoy my freebie, and please look out for more. I am currently working on getting my licenses so that I can begin selling on TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers)
Watch out for more updates as I begin working round the clock posing new ideas
